It's a way of helping children and adults work through emotional challenges, not by sitting in a room talking, but by spending time with horses in a calm, outdoor setting. Horses are incredibly sensitive animals. They pick up on how a person is feeling, often before that person even realises it themselves. If a child is anxious, the horse responds. If they're calm, the horse settles too. This natural feedback helps children understand their own emotions in a way that feels safe and real. Majella guides each session, but the horses do a lot of the work. Children learn to regulate their emotions, build trust, and grow in confidence simply by being around the horses and caring for them.
One of the most powerful parts of working with horses is how quickly children begin to notice their own feelings. When a horse steps back because a child is tense, or moves closer when they're calm, it creates a moment of real understanding.
Over time, children start recognising what anxiety feels like in their body, what calmness looks like, and how their behaviour affects the world around them. These are skills that carry into school, friendships, and family life.

Our sessions support children and adults dealing with a wide range of challenges. Here are some of the families we work with most.

Children on the autism spectrum or with ADHD often struggle in structured, indoor settings where they're expected to sit still, make eye contact, and talk about their feelings. The stable removes all of that. Sessions happen outdoors with the horses, at your child's own pace, with no demands they're not ready for.
Majella spent years working as a Special Needs Assistant before becoming a coach, so she understands sensory needs, communication differences, and what it takes to help a child feel genuinely safe. Parents regularly tell us their child is calmer after sessions, sleeps better, and copes more easily during the week.

If your child gets overwhelmed easily, avoids social situations, or has gone quiet in school, spending time with the horses can help them find their feet again. Horses respond to calm, gentle energy. When a child learns to approach a horse quietly and earns its trust, that builds real confidence that carries into everyday life.
We've worked with children who barely spoke when they first came to the stable and are now chatting to other children and engaging with adults they would have avoided before. Every child moves at their own speed and there is never any pressure to do more than they're comfortable with.

Equimotional Wellbeing Coaching is for adults too. Parents, carers, and anyone going through a difficult time can benefit from spending time with the horses.
Sessions are completely flexible. You might groom a horse, walk with one around the stable, or simply stand in the field and let everything slow down for thirty minutes. Several of the adults who come to Majella are parents of the children she works with, who realised they needed a bit of support themselves.
