terms of service

Last Updated: 14th Feb, 2026

Welcome to SJ Equine Coaching. By using this website, booking a session or programme with us, you agree to the following terms. We keep things straightforward here, so please read through these before your first visit.

1. Sessions and Programmes

One-to-One Sessions

Our one-to-one sessions are 30 minutes long and tailored to each individual child or adult. Sessions are client-led, meaning Majella works at your child's pace in a safe, no-pressure environment.

Discovery Sessions

Discovery Sessions are 60 minutes long and designed for new families to meet Majella, see the stable, and find out if SJ Equine Assisted Coaching is a good fit for your child. There is no obligation to book further sessions after a Discovery Session.

Six-Week Foundation Programme

The Six-Week Foundation Programme consists of six consecutive weekly one-to-one sessions. Full payment is required in advance to secure your place. Your time slot is allocated specifically to you for the duration of the programme.

2. Pricing

Prices are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated in advance and will not affect programmes already paid for.

3. Payment

Six-Week Foundation Programme: Full payment is required in advance before the programme begins. Your time slot is reserved exclusively for you once payment is received.

Social Club and Pony Camps: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your child's place. The remaining balance is due before the first session or camp day.

Group Sessions (Children and Adults): A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place. The remaining balance is due before the first session.

Visits to Schools, Nursing Homes and Community Settings: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm the visit. The remaining balance is due before the scheduled date.

4. Cancellation Policy

Six-Week Foundation Programme: When you book the Six-Week Programme, your time slot is allocated specifically to you. If you need to cancel a session, that session is forfeited and cannot be rescheduled or refunded. If Majella has to cancel a session for any reason, that session will be added on to the end of your programme at no extra cost.

Regular One-to-One Sessions: The same cancellation terms apply. Your time slot is held for you. If you cancel, the session is forfeited. If Majella cancels, the session will be rescheduled at no extra charge.

Deposits: Deposits for Social Club, Pony Camps, group sessions, and visits are non-refundable unless SJ Equine Assisted Coaching cancels the event or session.

Weather and Safety: Sessions may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to severe weather or if conditions are unsafe for the horses or participants. In these cases, sessions will be rescheduled at a time that suits both parties.

5. Safety and Welfare

The safety of your child and the welfare of our horses are our top priorities. All sessions are supervised by Majella, who is a qualified Equimotional Wellbeing Coach with extensive experience as a Special Needs Assistant.

  • Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while on the Stable, except during their session with Majella.
  • Appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear must be worn during sessions. We will advise you on what to bring before your first visit.
  • Please let Majella know about any allergies, medical conditions, or specific needs your child has before the first session.
  • Participants engage with the horses at their own comfort level. There is never any pressure to interact beyond what feels right for your child.

6. Disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

SJ Equine Coaching provides equine-assisted coaching sessions. Our services are not a substitute for medical treatment, psychotherapy, or professional mental health care. Working with horses involves an inherent level of risk. Horses are living animals and their behaviour, while generally calm and gentle, cannot be predicted with absolute certainty. By participating in sessions at SJ Equine Coaching, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

SJ Equine Coaching accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during a session, except where caused by negligence on our part. We strongly recommend that participants have their own personal accident insurance in place.

7. Photos and Media

From time to time, we may take photographs or videos during sessions for use on our website and social media. We will always ask for your written consent before using any images of your child. If you would prefer that no photos are taken, just let Majella know and this will be respected without question.
